Successful handover of the project Althan Park

Althan Park

In Vienna’s 9th district, the project developer 6B47 acquired the former Austrian post office building in 2014 to create new living space. In December 2018, the building was handed over to its future residents with 237 privately financed, high-quality apartments.

In combination with the contemporary architecture and comfortable furnishings, the green access stands out as a special element in this inner-city location. The basic features of the Althan Park have been designed to meet the highest standards and premium comfort in all respects. Each of the apartments has either a balcony, a terrace, a loggia or – as an absolute rarity in this location – its own garden. The apartments offer not only a great view, but also seclusion and tranquility in the middle of the city. In the basement area of the building localized commercial spaces and a kindergarten imply an additional stimulation of the living space.

In this construction project, DELTA was responsible for project management. As part of the construction work, the residential building has been extended by an additional top floor and rises far above the neighboring buildings. In the short construction period of 20 months, among other things, the entire building had to be statically rebuilt. The partial overbuilding of ÖBB’s (Austrian Federal Railways) tracks, whose operation was not hindered during the demolition and construction works, was an additional challenge.

The numerous obstacles and necessary control measures were mastered and processed by the project management in close cooperation with the project manager of 6B47 and the planning team. In this way, we were able to work together on all the wishes of the owners and implement them accordingly.

Stefan Weiss, project manager at DELTA, explains:

“It’s a good feeling to see the building with its satisfied inhabitants after the intensive project phase. We want to thank the client for their trust in us and the positive spirit during the entire project phase.”
